Sink

From My Second Brain

Something sinks when it is placed in liquid and falls to the bottom, it is the opposite of float.

Examples of Sinking Objects

Why Objects Sink

Every object is made out of molecules, if these are close together the object is more dense and it will sink. Changing the size, material or shape of an object may make a difference as to whether if floats or sinks.

Testing If Something Floats or Sinks

You can test if an object will float or sink by putting it into some water, if it stays on top if floats, otherwise if it falls to the bottom it sinks. This is called an experiment.
