Fostering

Fostering is when a family looks after babies, children or young people who are in need of safe, stable family environment.

Possible reasons families may foster children:

• it gives the family someone new to love
• it gives the family someone to help
• it provides the child a safe place to live and be happy
• growing your family can feel good
• the religions, Christianity and Islam teach people that loving people is an important belief

There are no set amount of times that a foster child will stay with a family.
