Common errors in manual bookkeeping systems

From My Second Brain

Here are some common errors when using manual bookkeeping systems (though some may creep in on digital systems too):

  • Forgetting to record a transaction
  • Duplication of transactions
  • Making only one entry (remember you need a debit and credit entry for every transaction)
  • Entering transactions the wrong way around
  • Entering the wrong amount in one or both the accounts
  • Entering the transaction in the wrong account
