Axolotl

From My Second Brain

Native to Mexico axolotl are a very rare species of amphibian, unlike other amphibians they don't go through metamorphosis. Instead they remain in their tadpole state as an adult. This means they retain their gills throughout their lives and as a result can spend much more of their time in the water compared to other amphibians.
