Animal Structure

Different animals have different body parts. The different body parts of animal make up its structure.

As an example a a dog is made up of the following in its structure:

• ear
• eye
• fur
• leg
• nose
• tail
• tongue

Whereas a fish is made up of the following:

• eye
• fin
• gill
• mouth
• scales
• tail

Grouping and describing animals

We can use the structure of an animal ton describe, group and compare them by asking what are the same between different and animals and what is different. This helps when talking about animals to other people.

For example all birds have beaks, feathers and wings.

We could group animals into the following groups:

• Animals With No Legs
• Animals With Two Legs
• Animals With Four Legs
• Animals With Wings
• Animals With No Wings
• Animals With Gills
• Animals With No Gills
• Animals With Scales
• Animals With No Scales
