Count out an amount from a larger group
As a reminder when we count, the last number we say when counting a group is the number we have all together in that group.
We don't have to count every object if we just want a certain number from a group. For example if we baked a birthday cake and wanted to put four candles on it to celebrate a fourth birthday we could count out four candles from however many candles we have.
Count out from different starting points
When counting we don't always need to start from one, say you already have two objects on the table but you need five we can count on from the next number. The last number we say is again the number we have.
