A pattern is a repeated arrangement of shapes, colours or lines.

The Artist, Anwar Shemza uses patterns in his artwork. In his piece titled "Untitled, 1959" he repeats similar ideas and shapes, changing them a little each time to make them interesting.

An artist can use a viewfinder to help them find patterns in the environment around them.
