When we want to paint on a computer we use a painting program. This program has tools which will help us to paint including a digital paintbrush, eraser and fill bucket.

These tools can be access by using different input devices, a drawing tablet could be used to interact in a way similar to traditional pencil and paper. Alternatively a mouse can be used (though this will feel much less natural).
