A tortoise is a reptile which are very slow moving and are the longest living land animal in the world, some have lived for as long as 150 years.
A tortoise shell is actually part of their skeleton, it's just found on the outside of their body rather than the inside. This means they are unable to crawl out of it. This is known as an exoskeleton.
