Pollution comes from rubbish, gasses and smoke.
Effects of Pollution on the Oceans
- Plastic bags can float in the ocean looking like jellyfish which is a food turtles love to eat so they can attempt to eat them by mistake.
- Pelicans can eat things which float on the ocean like bottle tops and feed them to their young.
- Traffic cones can get stuck on polar bears making it harder for them to catch food.
- Birds can get caught in fishing nets, mistaking it for twigs they could use to build their nests.
What Can We Do?
- Not use single use plastic bags.
- Use paper straws
- Use water bottles
- Recycle
